Who is behind Homestead?
When entrepreneur and Homestead Founder, Tegan Martin-Drysdale imagined an Edmonton coworking space, she envisioned an inspiring space where the City’s entrepreneurs, thinkers and doers could focus on their work, but also feel safe to bounce ideas off each other. Before the dream of Homestead was realized, she visited coworking spaces from Saskatoon to New York, then, when Alberta Block Building was listed, she knew it was the beginning of something exciting. As a Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) accredited civil engineer and President of The RedBrick Group of Companies, Tegan and her team designed and renovated the historic building on Jasper Avenue into a community-focused, savvy business hub, perfect for Homestead and it’s members.
Three short years and a thousand connections later, Tegan knew it was time to take Homestead to the next level and, therefore, joined forces with local entrepreneur, Kelso Brennan, an accredited investor with a love of investing in unique businesses and business models. Previous to his involvement in Homestead, Kelso built, sold and acquired multi-million dollar companies across Alberta and, now, is the President of a digital marketing startup, Knorth Creative Inc., and The Banff Sign Company. With a desire to grow the entrepreneurial community in Edmonton, Kelso is an active mentor through NAIT’s Mawji Centre for New Venture and Student Entrepreneurship and is eager to help you build your Homestead.
